About Legacy Plan

For over 37 years, we've been the trusted guardians of family legacies — one estate plan at a time.

Our Story

Legacy Plan Estate Services was founded in 1987 by Eleanor Whitfield with a single mission: to make expert estate planning accessible to every family, not just the wealthy. What began as a solo practice in a small Manhattan office has grown into one of the Northeast's most respected estate planning firms.

Today, our team of six attorneys and twelve support staff have planned over 5,000 estates, protecting more than $2.4 billion in family assets. We remain committed to Eleanor's founding principle: every family deserves a plan.

Our pro-bono program provides free estate planning to veterans, single parents, and families facing terminal illness — because protecting your legacy shouldn't depend on your income.
